City of Hickory North Carolina Real Estate Sales Trends Update

Like the rest of Catawba County, the City of Hickory has seen a steady decline of single family stick-built home sales. The sharpest decline occurred in the past two years, but looking back over the past 3 years this market has lost $50,000,000......or roughly 49% of its total sales volume.
2009 saw the most substantial decreases in average sale and median sale prices. Couple that trend with an almost 15 month supply of homes for sale and I think it's unlikely this market posts any substantive gains in 2010. Let's hope I am wrong!
