What is a Realtor?
Realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors. Formed in 1908, the National Association of Realtors is the world's largest professional association. Realtors are licensed practitioners in the markets they serve. All members of the National Association of Realtors are also members of one or more state or territorial associations, and one or more of the 1,700 local associations and boards.
Although all Realtors are professionally licensed, not all real estate practitioners are Realtors. One of the most fundamental differences between Realtors and non-Realtor practitioners is the Realtors' strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The 2010 Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the National Association of Realtors can be viewed by clicking this link.
Pless Realty Services is a member of the National, North Carolina, and Catawba Valley Associations of Realtors.
On a foot note the words Realtor and Realtors are registered trademarks and therefore are not supposed to be used without the ® following immediately after the r or the s. For reasons I can't explain the registered trademark symbol refuses to display correctly. Therefore I chose to omit them because they made things hard to read. If anybody has a suggestion for solving this mystery please leave a comment. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
